What it replaces

The salt makers ask you to check your tank at least once a month and keep it at least half full. That routine is here. The sensor does that check for you, continuously, and sends the number to someone who will act on it.

What installing one takes

A tech comes out, places the sensor in your brine tank and connects it to your Wi-Fi. It takes minutes, and your tank is filled at installation. You need two things ready:

• An outlet near your softener tank.
• Your Wi-Fi password so the sensor can report in.

What it costs and who owns it

• One-time $50 installation fee.
• Your first monthly bill starts 30 days after installation.
• The sensor is yours to keep from day one.
• It carries a lifetime warranty for as long as you stay on an active Simply Salt plan.
• No contract. Plans are month to month, from $16 a month.

What it does not do

The sensor watches salt. It does not service the softener itself, and Simply Salt does not install or repair water softeners. We deliver softener salt and fill the tank for you.
